đŸ‘‹ Hello

I’m a computational chemist and application specialist working at CSC – IT Center for Science, the high-performance computing center of Finland. Previously, as part of my doctoral thesis project at Aalto University, I explored solid–liquid interfaces and electrocatalysis using computational methods, mostly density functional theory and molecular dynamics. This research helps us understand how to accurately model electrochemical energy conversion processes such as the production of green hydrogen.

In my current position at CSC, I support scientists and industrial R&D professionals in using supercomputers and high-performance simulation software such as CP2K and GROMACS. Besides one-on-one consultation, I also maintain and develop our software environment and participate in organizing customer training events.

To exercise and unwind, I practice the Japanese martial art aikido. The principle of aikido builds on the idea of harmlessly controlling an attacker’s actions using soft counter-techniques, such as throws and joint locks, enabled by the utilization and redirection of the attacker’s own momentum. Besides my interest in aikido, I’m also an avid birdwatcher and enjoy spending time outdoors.
